The Motivation Manifesto Summary9 Declarations to Claim Your Personal Power

What makes the difference between a person stuck in an ordinary, unfulfilling life, and a person racing to the top is a little bit of motivation. That’s why Brendon Burchard decided to write “The Motivation Manifesto.”

And energize people worldwide!

About Brendon Burchard

Brendon BurchardBrendon Burchard is possibly the most successful and highest-paid online motivation trainer in history. He is also one of the best-known and “most influential leaders in the field of personal growth.”  According to “Forbes,” he has so far trained over 1.5 million students.

He has written five books: “High Performance Habits,” “The Charge,” “The Millionaire Messenger,” “Life’s Golden Ticket,” and, of course “The Motivation Manifesto.”

“The Motivation Manifesto Summary”

The Motivation Manifesto,” writes the world’s favorite inspirational novelist Paulo Coelho, “is a poetic and powerful call to reclaim our lives and find our own personal freedom. It’s a triumphant work that transcends the title, lifting the reader from mere motivation into a soaringly purposeful and meaningful life. I love this book.”

We love it too!

And although we may not be as wordy as Coelho, we can compensate with organization and thoroughness. Mirroring the book’s structure, we’ll divide our summary into sections.

Burchard dedicates the first on human nature.

The section is divided in three chapters which elaborately expand on the three introductory sentences: “A vibrant, genuine, and purposeful life is the right of all humankind. But most of us fail to grasp it. We are lions and lionesses living as mice.”

Burchard explains how freedom, fear and motivation are related, and how the last is the way you can trample the second to rich the first!

So, in order to motivate you to reclaim your freedom, he moves on to the lyrical section 2, where he announces his nine declarations. They are empowering and inspiring even as chapter titles.

First of all, Burchard shouts from the rooftops, we shall meet life with full presence and power. And this means that it’s time to crawl out of the abysses of oblivion and hop on the energy bus! And become not impassionate spectators of our lives, but conscious observers! Then – even directors and guardians of it, warriors, lovers, and leaders!

Next, we shall reclaim our agendas. We will stop letting our days pass by us as we watch them! And we shall grab them by the throat and pack them neatly within our organizers! We need three things: Clarity. Direction. Progress.

And, then, we shall defeat our demons! The world may be haunted by them, but we won’t let few goblins of delay and doubt to mess up our plans! No doubts, no delaying – we’ll stand up for what we believe from beginning to the end!

Declaration number 4: we shall advance with abandon! Any extraordinary mind has the power to bend reality. “Our destiny hinges on a mindset for bold action.” If we are lions – we won’t pass through life as if snails or turtles!

Fifth: we shall practice joy and gratitude! Science says so. The Dalai Lama says so. There are so many things in life we can be grateful about. So, let’s be! There are miracles all around us and they can help us be joyful and thankful even when pain and injustice is so overpowering!

Next – we shall not break integrity. We will think before acting, and never do anything we’re not passionate about! We shall keep our word and always tell the truth. And we shall treat everyone with respect. Above all, we shall always favor action. Because action – in the long run – becomes character.

We shall amplify love. Love is what made us – and love is what we need to share with the world around us. Because the duty of lovers is – sang Leonard Cohen once – to tarnish the golden rule…

We shall inspire greatness. Because the most frightening answer to the questions: “Am I in some way elevating humanity by leading others to see and activate their potential? Am I living a truly great life?” is not “No.” It’s: “Well, I never tried…”

And, finally, we shall slow time. Life is just a series of fleeting moments. Make them last longer. Extend them forever.

Personal power is directly tied to personal responsibility, which most people avoid. Click To Tweet We all know that the seeds of greatness grow faster in the hearts of those doing work they love than in the bitter hearts of those enslaved by work they despise. Click To Tweet We learn that the more we are true to ourselves, the more we can connect with and contribute to the world. Click To Tweet Without making the actual attempt, without trial and strife, there can be no true knowledge, no progress, no high achievement, and no legend.
